Vacation Over

This was a very nice week. It was nice sleeping in and not having to worry about anything.

Tuesday: The girls went to Granny's to make noodles while I went to a doctor's appointment and bought groceries.
Wednesday: Cleaned house and waited for my parents to come.
Thursday: Over to the In-laws for turkey! Uncle Lee came that evening.
Friday: Girls stayed home with Grandma and Grandpa while we went to the Texas/A&M game.
Saturday: Nothing. Went to the In-laws for leftovers.
Sunday: Usual visit to the In-laws.

Vacation Day #1

Due to exessive rain and in order to prevent the girls from bouncing off the walls and me from pulling my hair out, we went to McDonalds for lunch today. Plus I wanted to get the latest "Incredibles" toy. We ordered 3 Happy Meals. Elena gave the Manager a high five so he gave her another toy! Melissa did not want to. The girls ran around and went down a cool slide about 20 times. On the way out I had Elena thank the manager and Melissa ended up giving him a high five. He gave her a bag of cookies to share with Elena.

"WASHINGTON(AP) Marine scientists say they have discovered 178 new species of fish and hundreds more new species of plants and other animals in the past year, raising the number of life-forms found in the world's oceans to about 230,000.

I wonder if the sea squirrel is one of the species discovered. Hah hah "

Accident Report

Melissa hurt inside of her bottom lip today. She was in Stretch and Grow and trying to get a ball. Another kid bumped into her and knocked her into a shelf. By the time we got there at the end of the day, the swelling had gone down. She is one tough cookie, because you would not know she hurt it by the way she is acting.

New Species

Today during bath time, Elena discovered a new animal species. We have a sea squirrel.

Movie Time

This week we had a first. We took Elena and Melissa to the movies. Elena had a field trip on Thursday to go see Polar Express, but she had never been to the movies before. Since we wanted to part of this "first", we took both the girls to see "The Incredibles" on Wednesday night. It was a good movie and we had fun. We got a big bucket of popcorn and shared a large Mr. Pibb. We ended up with the girls sitting on our laps, so Melissa and I moved next to Mark and Elena. I held Mark's hand and was in family bliss.

Elena inhaled the popcorn and both told us later that they liked the really yellow and wet popcorn best.

I had a vacation day, so I went with Elena on her field trip. After the movie, we came home and swept and mopped the kitchen area. Woo hoo! We did not get Melissa since she was taking a nap. Mark picked her up on his way home from work.

First Time to the movies

Last night we took the girls to see "The Incredibles". It was a good movie and a fun experience. We got a big bucket of popcorn, which Elena inhaled. And a big Mr. Pibb. At first the girls sat in their own seats, but by the end of the movie, they were on our laps. Melissa and I moved over to sit next to Mark and Elena. Such a good family moment.

I love my family.

Elena's boo-boo

This weekend Elena was playing on my parents chair and slipped and hit her mouth on the not-so-soft chair. Her chin got scrapped, her tooth cut her bottom lip and she cut her gum on the top. Quite a bit of blood at the beginning, but by morning she was hunky dorry.

How can anyone explain how much your heart aches when your kids get hurt? Someone told me that it never goes away. I think that must be true, because my brother is 30 and my Mom talks about how much it hurts her to see my brother hurt in his relationships.

Ohhhh, my heart aches thinking about my heart aching!
